[00:00:00] Hello, and welcome to the very first official episode of Baseline and Boundaries, A Mindset Revolution with Dr. Tamika Scott. I'm your host, Dr. Tamika Scott, your executive mindset coach, leadership mirror, DEI, disruptor and recovering perfection performance.
In this episode, let me start off by asking my first question. What is your baseline?
, because before we do anything else, I want us to stop and take stock of where we are. Right now, is this your baseline? Now, you might be here because you've been questioning your confidence, or you may be someone who overthinks everything, or maybe you are successful on paper, but you've been feeling [00:01:00] stuck or unseen or something just feels a little off, or you could actually just be here to support me.
That works as well. But I want you to know, regardless of what brought you to this space that you're supposed to be here. And I also wanna let you know that if you are questioning your confidence or overthinking or , feeling like you still don't meet the mark. I've been there and I built this podcast for us.
I would be the first to tell you it was out of reluctancy. I was absolutely anti doing something else that was on-trend. But here we are and I'm excited about

because we are here. We are smart, we're driven, we're constantly showing up for everyone else, and I want us to be in this space ready to. Make some changes to start to see things differently so that we can [00:02:00] show up confidently in spaces without the feeling of burnout. So as you know, I created Baseline and Boundaries because I got tired of hearing some of the surface level leadership talk.
And if you listen to the trailer, you heard my spiel. I want this podcast. To not allow for us to attempt to fit into someone else's mode of what success is, I want us to be redefining it for ourselves. So here's what you can expect this season. We are gonna talk about self-sabotage, confidence, and the power of knowing your worth.
And we're gonna talk even more about how some of these mindset tools. Are very beneficial and I wanna share some stories from some real clients that I've had with their permission. Of course. And of course you already know I'm gonna change a name here or two. So I wanna share a little bit about the behind the scenes of some of the stories that my clients and I have had.[00:03:00]
We'll also break down this ideal and concept of trauma, perfectionism, and the praise culture that shapes how we show up in spaces. And yes, we're gonna unpack all those F-bombs that I promised you. Um, but in particular, we're gonna unpack some of the thought F-bombs. That's the fear, the failure, the fatigue, and the feeling like you gotta do all the things perfectly because truth is perfection doesn't truly exist.
Not at all. So let me ask you this question. Uh, with our first podcast episode, and please know that I ask questions on a regular, so get ready. I wanna know where is your current baseline? What do you believe about success and how do you respond when people compliment you? Or when was the first time you gave yourself permission to change your mind, to set a boundary
or to rest without [00:04:00] guilt. I am all up in my own Kool-Aid at this point, but these are the kind of questions that I'm going to be asking throughout the season, not because I have all the answers, because trust me, I do not, but because I know the power of a right question that can shift everything.
